I've Always Wanted to Have Twins...

Only I call them the MuREENers.
It's muREEN biology,
why shouldn't it be the muREENers?

(click on any pic to enlarge)

It was my first time in their turf.

First thing we arrived, this gentlemen

gave Rebekah this.

Some kids go to MANY games and never get
an authentic MLB baseball.

I first saw the Twins play
in the Royals stadium 1987 or 88.

I waved at Gene Larkin and he tossed me a ball.

A few years later, at a
UND  FIGHTING SIOUX hockey game,
 I waved to
and he flipped me a hockey puck.

The next  UND hockey game,
the ref flipped me one.

I might have more memorablilia,
if i had been out of the house in the last decade.

Yep, Beka is MY daughter.

Notice those things Scott and Beth are wearing?

Yea, they're called SUN GLASSES.
We only need them about 140 days a year.

Our view from front row centerfield.

We ate
mountains of cotton candy,
piles of popcorn
sang at the tops of our lungs,
and cheered and whistled
 for the TWINS
in the middle of all the Mariners fans.

These boys weren't paying attention
during the National Anthem.
Arne't they old enough to know better?

Ahem, notice the pink backpack?

Ichiro Suzuki lookin' like  John Travolta.

The Mariners superstar makes $18 MILLION a year -
to do this?

and this?

and this?

and this?
(my bet - he's picking a  scab, doncha' think, moms?)

I felt like a stalker, but he didn't play much.
These were his only action shots.

When the first ball that came to his corner of the world,
he ended up chasing after it.

I think it was because...

...he was doing this when the batter connected with the ball.

These pics were both taken at 4:33.
Cameras don't lie.

(OK, my AM and PM are mixed up)

Tonight, I am thinking about ten seconds.
Yea, agreat family memory over Memorial weekend,
the sun was shining,
the Twins won,

but I can't get over
10 seconds.

If someone asked for 10 seconds of our time,
we would think they were crazy.
It's not really enough time to do anything is it?

The time it takes to miss a fly ball.
The time it takes to say something hurtful.
The time it takes to cause a car accident.
The time it takes to hear the words
"you're fired" or
"you have cancer" or
"I want a divorce."

10 seconds can change a life.

What can we do with 10 seconds that will be
wonderful,
healing,
encouraging,
loving,
helping?

Leave your ten second ideas.

I'd love to be encouraged.

It will only take....

...about 10 seconds.

  2. Ruby's suggestions:
    I love you.
    Give me a hug.
    God knows.

    So many possibilities.
I am gob smacked at the amount that guy gets paid. Sport is big here in Aus. but players don't get THAT much.

  3. Ruby, I was struck with your suggestion that was barely ONE SECOND long and two words.

    GOD KNOWS.

Will be feasting on that thought today. Thanks, sister.

  4. Hello again Mindy,
You know I wrote that yesterday very impulsively but I went away thinking about it and came to the conclusion that when I am comforting a believer or needed it myself there is no greater truth and surity.
For one who does not trust the Lord these are empty words without depth or meaning but to us they give that affirmation. God is sovereign, he does all things well!
