WHO IS BOSS?

my daughter, jana, gave
the Innocent Man
the devotional "Jesus Calling"  for christmas.

my son-in-law, aaron, took the picture of my six kids
and gave that as a gift.

i gave him the cross that says
ENDURE.

these items were on the dresser of his room
and had to be packed up with his other belongings
before i flew home.

i just had to see what the author
had to say january 20th,
the day the innocent man didn't go home,
but went off in handcuffs.

**********

APPROACH THIS DAY WITH AWARENESS OF
WHO IS BOSS.

As you make plans for the day,
remember that is it I who orchestarate the events of your life.

On days when things go smoothly,
according to your plans,
you may be unaware of My sovereign Presence.

On days when your plans are thwarted,
be on the lookout for Me!

I may be doing something important in your life,
something quite different from what you expected.

It is essential at such times to stay in communication with Me,
accepting My way as better than yours.

Don't try to figure out what is happening.

Simply trust Me and thank Me in advance
for the good that will come out of it all.

I know the plans I have for you,
and they are good.

**********

have your plans recently been thwarted?
are you trying to figure out what's happening in your life?

can you surrender your plans,
your ways and your thoughts?

when my heart is troubled about my circumstances,
i encourage myself by remembering the One
who orchestrated those circumstances,
is the One who loved me enough to die for me.

over and over i say

"God is either 100% sovereign,
or He isn't sovereign at all.
God is sovereign,
and
i
choose
to
believe."

He's
the
Boss.

  3. Have been thinking of you and praying know it is so hard we can be thankful we have a God who is Boss and our King. What do people do that have no hope, no faith, and no Lord it would be awful and PRAISE GOD that we do, your family does and the Innocent Man does, so it is ok to ask Why? Because God knows our hearts and He will tell or show us one day the answer to that Why. So true without our faith we have nothing!! Sending a hug your way Mindy!

  4. I was just ready Jesus Calling this morning. I loved what she said: "Refuse to waste energy worrying and you will have strength to spare."
    But I want to worry!
Here's praying you will be worry free today.

  5. I'm so glad I have been following your posts about your son. You just don't know how they are speaking to me right now. This week has been the hardest week of my life as well as that of my entire family. We've had devastating, life-altering, heart-shattering news that I can't share right now, but through it all I know God is truly in control and I can already see glimpses of the good he is bringing out of this horrible situation. God IS Sovereign! Thank you for the encouragement you are giving me through these honest, heart-felt posts. God is using your situation already to minister to others. Make no mistake, people are watching to see how you handle this situation just like they are watching my entire family. I know that like you, I want people to see Jesus!

  6. Cheesemaking Mama, I am so very sorry to hear you are also suffering greatly. When life on earth is so terrifying, and we feel so beaten down, we can only look up. I wish I could take those circumstances away from you, I wish I could take away the pain and put you all in a safe, wonderful environment, but I can't. I have to trust the Lord for your suffering, like I have to trust Him for ours. I am only humbled and thankful if the comfort I receive from Him comforts anybody in their sorrows.

The Innocent Man is a relative, but not my son. Because of the ongoing situation, I've had to be as vague as possible. Thank you SO much for praying. I will be praying for your family, too, that you would FEEL Jesus and people would SEE Jesus in you.

I've had this line humming through my mind for weeks,
"It will be worth it all,
    when we see Jesus,
it will be worth it all,
    when we see Christ.
One glimpse of His dear face,
    all sorrows will erase,
    so gladly run the race,
    till we see Christ."

    Blessings, dear sister!

  7. Thank you, Mindi. I'm sorry for assuming he was your son. This thing that happened to our family is also a close relative. It hurts bad, but I know God is in control and already we are seeing his grace and mercy despite horrible circumstances. I praise God for these glimpses of hope. Praying for the Truth to be revealed to all involved. That it will be clear for all to see.
