4 Days to Innocent Man's Trial

As we draw nearer and nearer to the trial of the Innocent Man,
we all have mixed emotions.

dread
sorrow
fear
doubt

For years I've sung the song

It was an encouraging song,
but now
I get it.

When facing an insurmountable trial, you must face it
moment by moment,
step by step.
Looking at a whole day,
a whole week,
a whole month,
or a year is overwhelming.
Since Feb. 14th, we've been living
moment by moment.

All of us are taking our thoughts and making them captive to Christ
so we don't despair and fear.
We remind ourselves over and over
the Lord is in control.

I've started a spiritual countdown to give me courage
as we trudge the final steps of this time of testing.
Please join me.

Where do we go when we're in soul distress?
The Psalms.

Psalm 4

1 Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness!
You have relieved me in my distress;
Have mercy on me, and hear my prayer.

2 How long, O you sons of men,
Will you turn my glory to shame?
How long will you love worthlessness
And seek falsehood? Selah

3 But know that the LORD has set apart for Himself him who is godly;
The LORD will hear when I call to Him.

4 Be angry, and do not sin.
Meditate within your heart on your bed, and be still. Selah

5 Offer the sacrifices of righteousness,
And put your trust in the LORD.

6 There are many who say,
“Who will show us any good?”
LORD, lift up the light of Your countenance upon us.

7 You have put gladness in my heart,
More than in the season that their grain and wine increased.

8 I will both lie down in peace, and sleep;
For You alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety.

I also use YoutTube videos to encourage myself in the Lord.

How do you encourage yourself when you're feeling the heat of the
Refiner's Fire?

Is there someone you call?
A favorite verse you read?
Songs you love?

I'd love to hear how you bring your heart to the Lord
when circumstances could easily cause you to stray.

  1. The book of Philippians.
If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies. . .

  2. I sing blessed assurance, and that always puts things in perspective. Life here is not promised to be easy, but in the end we are promised to live in victory FOREVER with Jesus. I truly believe that outlook is 90% of life and circumstances are only 10%. Maybe we end up in places, places we never wanted to be because Jesus needs us to be a light and a witness in those horrible places. praying for you family.

  3. I sing (to myself) a little song the children learned in VBS one summer, "be strong and courageous, do not be terrified do not be discouraged, the Lord your God is with you wherever you go". Sile works best for me.

  4. Greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world. We fight FROM victory, not FOR victory.

God is sovereign. Praise Him. When we praise God, it changes the focus from how big the problem is to how big GOD is. And the devil doesn't hang around to hear us praise God. He doesn't want us praising God.

God already has it handled. And He knows our hearts' desires. He is working. Praise God as much as possible for a positive outlook and to unleash God's power.

I pray this will be a season of growth for all of us.

    Praying.

  5. I find myself saying:
"Be still my soul (my mind, will and emotions that are still in the process of being saved and transformed)...
all that is within me bless His Holy Name."

*our spirit is saved upon receiving Jesus as Lord, but our soul is the part of us that is being transformed into His likeness...so it is what needs the most *talking* to.

    I am praying.

  7. I always remember, Nothing but the Lord God shall you fear. And, I have not given you a heart of fear. Something about these fit every situation and gives me peace.

  8. 2nd Chronicles 20:17 "You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, who is with you, O Judah and Jerusalem! Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, for the Lord is with you." The Lord spoke to me through this verse. I am here, be it 1 more week, 1 more month, or 1 more year, I'm not leaving! Love you!!
