...I have to admit it.
I was the pouty kid who didn't want to go back to school.
I wanted to sleep in a few more days.
I wanted to go to more rummage sales.
I wanted to plant more flowers and pull more weeds.
Since summer finally made it to the Pacific Northwest,
it didn't seem right to sit at the dining room table,
surrounded by books, markers, files and computers.
Meanwhile, my 8 year old daughter kept yelling,
"I can't wait for school to start.
I'm so excited for third grade!"
Ironic, right?
But, enthusiasm is contagious.

Gotta love that youthful exuberance! :-)
ReplyDeleteOne of my kids was anxious to start, the other two not so much.
ReplyDeleteI had to come back and tell you how your comment on my pencil post made me laugh. I was like "What's a boomerang feature?" and then saw what you wrote and it cracked me up.
We've tried mechanical pencils but my 9 year old has a heavy hand and snaps the lead ALL THE TIME. LOL!
Have a wonderful day!
