Our Anchor is Holding

During this past week of severe testing,
we have been upheld by His victorious right arm.

Each day we wake with our ever-present trial,
and His ever-present help.

When we again are stopped by another block in the road,
He helps us to climb over,
walk around,
go through or
dig under.

He has gone before us.
We look back and see His whispers and His thoughts prepared us,
for such a time as this.

We are not distraught, but hard-pressed.
It seems impossible,
and we plead for miracles.

Praise God that we serve One who specializes in miracles!

Please do not stop praying.
In fact, we ask you to increase.

This has been our theme and we ask you to pray with us:
1.  That the Truth be Found
2.  That the Truth be Told
3.  That the Truth be Believed

A dear sister, Jill, sent the words to this song in a comment.
I wanted to share this quartet with you.

Thank you all for your emails, your comments, your affirmations of love,
your fervent prayers and your silent support.

We feel them all.

I think this is one of the hardest things we've faced.
Many have been concerned and asked about my cancer.
Truthfully, I haven't thought about it in weeks.
My cancer is nothing compared to this.

Yet,  despite the suffering, many times during each day,
 those of us involved
have broken down in tears of joy and worship,
as we see the Lord reveal His plan to us,
and grace us His presence.

We are like Moses and the children of Israel
huddled on the shores of the Red Sea,
with the enemy behind us.

But, we know something they didn't know
as they huddled in terror,
the Lord WILL part the seas,
and we WILL walk through on dry ground.

Until that time,
we endure the storm because
Our Anchor Holds.

  1. Hello Mindy,

I have been reading your last few posts this morning. Im not sure what your heartbreak is, but the prayer request about the truth really hit home with me. I have been dealing with a heartbreaking situation that requires the same three answers. I can understand your pain because I am feeling it too -- for you and for me. I know how to pray for you now. There is no greater pain than that of an unwarranted attack. Satan knows where to strike and who he can use to hurt you. But God knows who to use to strengthen you. It looks to me like He has brought some wonderful bloggers to pray for you!
    Blessings and health to you.

  3. I will not stop praying. I just prayed again for you. I do not know your situation, but I do know that we serve a God who is passionately in love with His children. He calls us His beloved. We are in union with Christ and nothing can separate us from the Love of God in Christ. In reading Isaiah right now I am learning much about God's love in spite of Israel's unfaithfulness. Be encouraged today that you have a Savior who has already fought the battle for you and is right now at the Father's throne pleading and interceding for you.

  4. Two verses:

"You [God] trampled the sea with your horses, churning the great waters. I heard and my heart pounded, my lips quivered at the sound; decay crept into my bones and my legs trembled. Yet I will wait patiently for the day of calamity to come on the nation invading us. Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olvie crop fails and the frields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will be joyful in God my Savior. The Sovereign Lord is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer," Hab. 3:15-19a (NIV)

    and

"He will proclaim peace to the nations. His rule will extend from sea to sea and from the River to the ends of the earth. As for you, because of the blood of my covenant with you, I will free your prisoners from the waterless pit. Return to your fortress, O prisoners of hope; even now I announce that I will restore twice as much to you." Zech. 9:10b-12 (NIV)

    Love you guys. :)

  5. Casting Crowns - The Voice of Truth

Oh,what I would do to have
the kind of faith it takes
To climb out of this boat I'm in
    Onto the crashing waves
To step out of my comfort zone
Into the realm of the unknown
    Where Jesus is,
And he's holding out his hand

But the waves are calling out my name
    and they laugh at me
Reminding me of all the times
    I've tried before and failed
The waves they keep on telling me
    time and time again
    "Boy, you'll never win,
    You you'll never win

But the Voice of truth tells me a different story
the Voice of truth says "do not be afraid!"
and the Voice of truth says "this is for My glory"
Out of all the voices calling out to me
I will choose to listen and believe the Voice of truth

    Oh, what I would do
to have the kind of strength it takes
    To stand before a giant
with just a sling and a stone
    Surrounded by the sound
    of a thousand warriors
    shaking in their armor
Wishing they'd have had the strength to stand

    But the giant's calling out
my name and he laughs at me
Reminding me of all the times
    I've tried before and failed
The giant keeps on telling me
    time and time again
    "Boy you'll never win,
    you'll never win."

But the voice of truth tells me a different story
the Voice of truth says "do not be afraid!"
and the Voice of truth says "this is for My glory"
Out of all the voices calling out to me
I will choose to listen and believe the Voice of truth

But the stone was just the right size
to put the giant on the ground
and the waves they don't seem so high
from on top of them looking down
I will soar with the wings of eagles
when I stop and listen to the sound of Jesus
    singing over me

But the Voice of truth tells me a different story
The Voice of truth says "do not be afraid!"
And the Voice of truth says "this is for my glory"
Out of all the voices calling out to me (calling out to me)
I will choose to listen and believe (I will choose to listen and believe)
I will choose to listen and believe the Voice of truth

    I will listen and believe
I will listen and believe the Voice of truth
    I will listen and believe
'Cause Jesus you are the Voice of truth
And I will listen to you.. oh you are the Voice of truth

  7. We're currently getting hit with a foot of snow and I decided to take a quick walk before JetSki woke up to eat. The snow looked so beautiful and I felt joyous in the Lord and prayed as I walked. I thought of your family and prayed for you. It's so wonderful that even through a snowstorm our prayers go straight to the throne of God. He is faithful in whatever storm we go through. He hears our prayers. He has a perfect plan. To God be the glory great things He has done. We are thinking and praying for you!! Love you!!!

  8. Amen, Mindy! Our anchor is sure and steadfast, and when we pass through the waters, He is with us!

We pray for you as you cling in utter dependence to the Lord. It's good to know that He knows the outcome and eventually uses all things for His own glory.... He will see you through!

"He only is my rock and my salvation, my stronghold; I shall not be shaken. On God my salvation and my glory rest; the rock of my strength, my refuge is in God."
    Psalm 62:6,7

  9. I always remember this in times of trails. "He has not given you a heart of fear."
I went for a rare run alone today. In the final mile you came into my mind and I lifted you up to the Lord.
Thank you for sharing with your readers.
    Prayers continue.
