MM Meditation - Saying Thank You

For nearly 30 years, my husband has been blessed with the spiritual wisdom and discipleship of an older brother, John N. Dabill. The years we lived in his town, they met weekly to study through the Bible, working through many books of the Bible,  including Job, I John, Genesis, Hebrews, I and II Corinithians and Daniel.  The years we have lived apart, they keep up their spiritual conversations through the phone.  John not only wrote our very beautiful, spiritual wedding vows, he performed the ceremony. He has been Grandpa John to our children and a great spiritual encouragement to our entire family through the years.

2 Corinthians 9:12, "For the administration of this service not only supplies the need of the saints but is abundant also by many thanksgivings unto God."

Paul had been taking a collection from the churches to help the poor saints in Jerusalem.  Here he points out that these gifts will bring many thanksgivings to God.

The proper response to a gift is a "thank you."  All good parents teach their children to say "thank you" when receiving a gift.

Our God is the greatest of givers and we find the work "thanks" over 150 times in the Bible and the word "praise" more than twice as often.

2 Corinthians 9:15 says, "Thanks be unto God for His unspeakable gift."  As we remember this greatest of all gifts, the Lord Jesus, "Let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to His name."  Hebrew 13:15
