I really think the rainy wet trees in our woods are beautiful and not dismal.Judithhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14303626433109140676noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-875880171885324828.post-6283578696896670192011-09-29T06:47:08.828-07:002011-09-29T06:47:08.828-07:00I lived in the PNW for 12 years before coming back...I lived in the PNW for 12 years before coming back to New York, and it can be gloomy here too. I'm also a nurse. It seems like everyone here is taking Vit D supplements! But being outside is so great! I'm glad you're finding ways to get out there :)

P.S. I love the soup in a cast iron pot idea - I LOVE my cast iron cookware - use it every single chance I get!Lynda Meyershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14184072086095936772noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-875880171885324828.post-91780433130923946852011-09-29T03:39:01.702-07:002011-09-29T03:39:01.702-07:00I don't blame you. Living in Australia's ...I don't blame you. Living in Australia's sunshine state, I just cannot imagine 229 day a year without the sun. I would like to think I could adopt your non-complaining attitude but I fear my good humour would be sorely tried by such miserable weather.Rubyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09705309602853231946noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-875880171885324828.post-63325162742711957912011-09-28T20:01:14.329-07:002011-09-28T20:01:14.329-07:00Oh Mindy, I couldn't agree more. Good for you!Christenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02889314299873518448noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-875880171885324828.post-74897528465758623592011-09-28T18:39:19.020-07:002011-09-28T18:39:19.020-07:00You've got a great attitude. I NEED the sun and would find it difficult to live "where the sun don't shine" - but you've found a great way to cope.Sweet Teahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15614958513434632328noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-875880171885324828.post-35378820699526491372011-09-28T15:05:24.610-07:002011-09-28T15:05:24.610-07:00OOH, we did eat lunch out there and tried the new ...OOH, we did eat lunch out there and tried the new campfire sandwich thingy, but I don't have a cast iron pot. Like that idea. Then Beka would totally feel that Little House on the Prairie feeling.Mindyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15182293568554955242noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-875880171885324828.post-37063382030249516842011-09-28T14:31:45.802-07:002011-09-28T14:31:45.802-07:00I don't think I could live there.... very easi...I don't think I could live there.... very easily. =/ I'm glad you're finding lots of ways to be outside. Might I add: tri-pod to your ideas? You could COOK OUTSIDE OVER YOUR CAMPFIRE WHILE YOU READ YOUR BOOK. :)
Do you have a cast iron pot? Potatoes, carrots, polish sausage (oh so healthy - ha!) 1 c. beef broth, 1 onion, dry onion soup pack + an hour or two over a blazing fire and you have a delicious meal that didn't take much work while you were OUTSIDE. :)~ Tandis ~https://www.blogger.com/profile/13441778335750280660noreply@blogger.com
